This piece was written for my Cathedral Choir who had decided to enter the bi-annual CBC National Amateur Choral Competition. Part of the repertoire requirement is that one choral piece must be in the French language. This repertoire is not easy to locate- and after much searching we were not successful in finding a suitable piece for this occasion. Since we were only five days away from the deadline for the recorded submission, the last possible hope seemed to be an original choral piece in French. This would also satisfy the other requirement- that one choral piece had to be by a Canadian composer. The result was Agneau de Dieu. It is dedicated to a member of the Cathedral choir who has supported the Cathedral organ project and choral program for many years. For solo tenor, SATB quartet (or semi-chorus) and mixed choir (SSATTBB). French text.
