Adolphe Adam's carol, based on Cappeau de Roquemaure's poem and then translated, is here arranged to enhance the appealing simplicity and dramatic swells of the original, drawing on Katie Melua's guitar line from the 'In Winter' recording and creating a sonorous choral texture.
