Magiya, the Russian word for magic, is the title of Sean Shepherd's new work written for the inaugural National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. The piece receives its world premiere on July 11 at SUNY Purchase in Westchester, New York before the Orchestra takes it on tour to Moscow (July 16) and St. Petersburg (July 18), ending with a performance at London's BBC Proms on July 22.
