Boosey & Hawkes new publications at 2008 Frankfurt Music Fair

Boosey & Hawkes launches its latest music publications at the Frankfurt Music Fair (12-15 March 2008). New releases include the latest in the Concerts for Choirs series and Karl Jenkins's Stabat Mater, collections of piano music by Stravinsky, Copland and Ginastera, and works by leading contemporary figures including John Adams, James MacMillan and Mark-Anthony Turnage.
Concerts for Choirs
The latest in the Concerts for Choirs series of anthologies on a particular theme is Confetti and Cake, collecting together choral music for your perfect wedding day, from relegious or civil ceremony through to the reception. There is a range of styles from Tallis, Bach and Mozart, through Rachmaninoff and Finzi, to new anthems by Will Todd, Swingle arrangements and popular music favourites. Guest editor for this anthology is David Guest who heads the Wedding Music Company, one of the leading experts in arranging music for any type of wedding.

Piano Collections
Piano music by three leading 20th century composers are collected in single volumes for the first time. The Stravinsky Piano Collection includes 14 easier works for the intermediate pianist and concert works for the seasoned performer, including the Sonata, Serenade in A, and Three Movements from Petrushka. The Copland Piano Collection includes Piano Sonata, Piano Variations, Four Piano Blues and Three Moods. The Ginastera Piano Collection includes Piano Sonatas Nos.1-3, Pequena Danza, Rondo on Argentine children's folk-tunes and Suite de danzas criollas.

Karl Jenkins: Stabat Mater
The lastest vocal score from best-selling composer Karl Jenkins is a setting of the Stabat Mater for mezzo soloist, choir and orchestra, premiered on 15 March in Liverpool and released on a new EMI CD. The work follows the success of The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace and Requiem, performed by choirs around the world. To celebrate the launch of the Stabat Mater the Boosey & Hawkes Online Shop is offering both vocal score and CD at a special offer price until 31 May.

John Adams: new scores
Latest publications of music by leading American composer John Adams include a piano score of American Berserk, a virtuosic blend of minimalism, ragtime and bebop at breakneck pace. John's Book of Alleged Dances for string quartet and tape is now available both as parts with a performance CD and in study score format in the Hawkes Pocket Score series. Other recent publications include scores of Naive and Sentimental Music and the piano concerto Century Rolls.

James MacMillan: new choral works
The choral music of James MacMillan's has become regularly featured on choral programmes by a broad range of performing groups. Recent works, appearing in print for the first time, include a set of seven Strathclyde Motets available as individual choral ottavos. These communion motets set propers of the Mass and are suitable for adventurous choirs. Also just released are MacMillan's Tenebrae Responsories, which are eight-part settings of three of the Good Friday responsories, providing a major addition to the repertoire of chamber choirs that enjoy exploring contemporary choral music.

Mark-Anthony Turnage: new study scores
New Mark-Anthony Turnage publications in the prestigious Hawkes Pocket Score series include his clarinet concerto Riffs and Refrains, and his string orchestra tribute to Henze, Lullaby for Hans. Both works have been featured on programmes by the London Philharmonic Orchestra together with Turnage's Scherzoid, also in the HPS series.
