Tim Garland is one of the UK's most gifted and prolific jazz composers and saxophonists. One of the most respected names on the current jazz scene, he has gained international acclaim as a saxophonist playing with Chick Corea and others, and as a talented composer, arranger and jazz educationalist.
The Dean Street Underground Orchestra, a creative collective led by Garland featuring the cream of UK jazz talent and resident band at Dean Street’s Pizza Express jazz club, has earned a formidable reputation for its playing and inventive writing.
Jazz Tonight brings together some of the best music played by the Underground Orchestra, both at the Pizza Express jazz club and on tour. Featuring arrangements of well-known standards and original compositions by Garland with plenty of opportunity for improvisation, it is ideal for jazz bands from high school level and up.
Mussorgsky's famous work in Ravel's technicolour orchestration is included in the Masterworks Library of full scores, ideal for conductors, students and music lovers.
