Composer John Adams and director Penny Woolcock discuss the composer’s opera about the making of the atomic bomb.

The new co-production, which opened at the Metropolitan Opera in October 2008 and travels to English National Opera in London on 25 February 2009, focuses on the days leading up to the first test of Dr. J. Robert Oppenheimer’s epoch-shifting invention.
