Looking Ahead: Shepherd's recent orchestral work Express Abstractionism receives its European premiere at the end of August, performed by the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester and Andris Nelsons. The piece travels to  Helsinki in November, receiving its Finnish premiere with the Helsinki Philharmonic and  Susanna Mälkki
