This LSO Discovery video looks at the lasting impact of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. Broadcaster Rob Cowan introduces this startling and influential ballet score, one of the masterpieces of the twentieth century, with contributions from conductors Valery Gergiev and Bernard Haitink and LSO players.

This video was edited, produced and directed by Tommy Pearson at Red Ted Films for the London Symphony Orchestra and appears on boosey.com with their permission.

Valery Gergiev conducted The Rite of Spring with the LSO on 27 & 29 January 2009. In the 2009/10 season he conducts Stravinsky's Petrushka (13 February 2010) and Symphony of Psalms (12/19 May 2010).
