This excellent book is in two parts. Part 1 concerns basic harmony, beginning with a preparatory chapter on scales, intervals and thirds. Section 2 is a study of advanced harmony, beginning with reharmonisation. It is followed by chapters on four and five-part harmony, upper structure triads, block chords, pentatonic harmony and the influence of classical piano music on jazz.
