The inspiration for Seize the Day grew out of workshops with the choir students at Deer Path Junior High School in Lake Forest, Illinois in the fall of 1997. For mixed choir (SAB), piano and 2 cellos.
While this is scored for two cellos, SAB chorus and piano, it should be noted that this piece can be performed with any combination of 2 cellos, 1 cello or no cello with piano. The cello parts were designed to be played by very good 8th grade cellists. Cello parts included.
