Alexander L’Estrange’s beautiful mixed voice composition, Lute-Book Lullaby, is a work suitable for Christmas performances.

First performed by the choir Tenebrae, directed by Nigel Short, who also commissioned the work, it was first performed on 12th September 2002, at St Luke's, Chelsea, London at a concert in support of Downs Syndrome.

Faber New Choral Works introduces a wealth of new or recently written choral music to choirs in search of fresh repertoire. The series draws in a rich diversity of living composers and includes both lighter and more challenging contemporary works, offering a thrilling array of varied styles.
