After using Like a Child from a contemporary hymnbook for congregational use, I found the melody haunted me. It seemed a logical step to arrange it for my Cathedral Choir as it speaks strongly to the tradition of spirituals. I have performed it with adult soloists or treble voices instead of soloists. Both are effective.
