A bolero-type percussion part provides the rhythmic pulse for the first section of this unique arrangement of the perennial Christmas favorite. Contrasting sections and contrapuntal lines build to a return of the carol melody now in march tempo. The melody goes through many transformations of instrumental color, building to an exciting ending. (Grade 2)
