About
World famous recorder virtuoso Michala Petri ventures into new musical territory on this release featuring three very different contemporary recorder concertos. Each concerto explores the intense musical complexity and rhythmic strength of the recorder, as well as the strong dynamic interaction of soloist and orchestra. The CD includes works by the Spanish composer Joan Albert Amargós, the American composer Steven Stucky and the Swedish composer Daniel Börtz.

Reviews
AMERICAN GRAMMY NOMINEE 2007
Best Contemporary Composition

Michala Petri is clearly an excellent musician, and the Danish National Symphony is a highly disciplined, competent ensemble. If you like challenging new music that is not academic, but still brilliantIy conceived, find this!
(American Record Guide)

Eine phänomenale Aufnahme, wunderbare Musik!
Wertung: 10/10/10
(Klassik Heute)

These three ambitious concertante works composed for her are ideally contrasted and show Michala Petri now at the height of her powers.
(Musical Pointers)

The sheer musicality and sense of character Petri brings to these works almost make you take her extraordinary technique and tone control for granted.
(10/10 Classics Today)

Michala Petri is very much on her game here on this outstanding recording!
(All Music - AMG)

Naturligtvis spelar Michala Petri fullständigt makalöst, andlöst så. Ljudet är förnämligt med en naturlig klang.
