''Trivellazione a percussione'' was written as a didactic work; that is why it contains a number of performance problems, both technical and interpretative, ranging from polymetry, polyrhythm and creative ad libitum on non-melodic instruments to independent two-part thinking and virtuosity. Despite the fact that the work is scored for few instruments, which are easy to put together, the use of various kinds of sticks and mallets and their varied application make it possible to obtain a wide gamut of colours and shades.'
