Jenkins, Karl - Chatterbox! (Violin & Piano)

A moto perpetuo showpiece, Chatterbox! was commissioned by Joo Yeon Sir for performance in the Young Artist Series at St John's Smith Square, London, in May 2016. The incessant babble implied by the title is aptly portrayed by the violin's spiccato bowing and chromatic figuration, as set against the boogie-woogie-style piano part. To add to the effect a metronome (set to 140 beats per minute) may be optionally be added. Alternative accompaniment for string orchestra is available on hire from Boosey & Hawkes.
