"Of all the choral settings of this marvelous song, this is the best. As a learning tool, it contains solos, unison singing, counterpoint, partner songs, melody and harmony occurring in each voice at some in the piece, and interesting harmonies. As an aethetic piece, it always brings tears to audiences. The partner song is Amazing Grace. The song can stand alone without the partner piece.
This has become the "theme song" for the Women's Chamber Ensemble at my school. They sing it every year!
