BBC Proms Season 2013
Royal Albert Hall, London, United KingdomThis will be is the 119th year of the Proms and it still remains true to its original aim: to present the widest possible range of music, performed to the highest standards, to large audiences.

The first Proms concert took place on 10 August 1895 and was the brainchild of the impresario Robert Newman, manager of the newly built Queen's Hall in London.

While Newman had previously organised symphony orchestra concerts at the hall, his aim was to reach a wider audience by offering more popular programmes, adopting a less formal promenade arrangement, and keeping ticket prices low. Information taken from the BBC Proms Offical Website

IAML International Association of Music Libraries Conference 2013
University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria

After the Opening Ceremony in the Vienna’s City Hall the conference is going to take place on the campus of Vienna University, which is near the city centre. An extensive cultural and social program awaits all participants. There is scarcely a more beautiful palace found in Vienna than Palais Ferstel, where the Farewell Dinner will also take place.

International conferences form an essential part of IAML's activities. They take place annually, each year in a different country. The international conferences consist of meetings of the Association's Professional Branches, Subject Commissions and Working Groups, along with sessions of more general interest.
