Michel van der Aa: Blank Out

In Michel van der Aa’s acclaimed new chamber opera Blank Out, memories of a family tragedy haunt mother and son.

Blank Out calls for compact forces making it ideal for practical staging and touring: a soprano (Miah Persson at the premiere) is the solo live performer, while baritone Roderick Williams appears on film, with accompaniment provided by a soundtrack combining voices of the Netherlands Chamber Choir with electronics.
