Champs Hill Records is delighted to release more great works by David Bowerman.

Having only started writing music at the age of 65, these compositions are more reflective than futuristic. For this CD, David draws on music and literature that holds personal ties for him, and the result is a small medley of his thoughts.

Music on this disc includes: Gerontius Revisited, based on one of the greatest choral works written by Elgar with the sublime words of Newman.

Shakespeare Sonnets gives a new experience to Shakespeare's sad but amazing writings. Fantasy on a Mastersong was created after David was listening to a CD of Meistersinger on a distant beach, which gave him the urge to jot down extracts, setting them for a piano trio.

The original pieces … act as a springboard for Bowerman's imagination, but he wishes to evoke them, not out-soar them'.
