How many choirs can say that due to large orchestrations they often find their choice of repertoire is limited? It can be very expensive to pay for an orchestra and this can make works which choirs can sing beyond their reach financially. So most choirs will perform these works with just piano or organ. While it still gives the choir a chance to sing these works not having an orchestra can make these works sound different.

Doblinger have just released three choral works of Johannes Brahms with a reduced orchestration, which means for the first time that an organisation who has to be careful financially can now perform these works.

All three works are available with the following orchestration arranged by Urs Stäuble : Flute, 2 Violins, Viola, Cello and Double Bass. The strings can be just single strings or extra parts can be purchased to perform the work with a small string orchestra.
