J.P.E. HARTMANN & NIELS W. GADE
Works for organ
Hans Fagius, organ

Niels Wilhelm Gade, composer
Johan Peter Emilius Hartmann, composer

About
For much of the nineteenth century J.P.E. Hartmann (1805-1900) and Niels W. Gade (1817-90) were the two predominant figures in Danish musical life. They were both organists for most of their adult lives, and their destinies were interwoven professionally as well as privately. This CD gathers the most significant organ works of the two composers, and at the same time offers a unique picture of one of the most flourishing periods of Danish cultural history.

Reviews

Rekommanderas!
(Orgelforum, nr. 1- 2206 /Årgång 28).
