Piano playing “con espressione”

In 2004 the renowned piano teacher Michael Proksch presented the Spanier für Elise (EB 8769), a collection of music for piano four-hands with many humorous allusions and cross-references to celebrated models. The new “two-hand” collection Piano Poetry again contains a wealth of pieces ranging from simple to medium difficulty. And once again, there are specific references to classical piano music and film scores. The red thread running through this book is the willingness to accept the great expressive and emotional power of piano playing, and to abandon oneself to feelings of harmony, joy, longing, comfort, grief and even mysticism.

Proksch recorded all the pieces himself on the enclosed CD in order to provide orientation for the interpreters.
