Programme Note
Pianoforte was commissioned as part of a set of eight pieces for the Tremplin International Competition in Montréal in June 1975, of which four were performed during the finale. Pianoforte alternates between different types of keyboard touch, providing an opportunity to show off the performer’s technique to best advantage.
