As with Complesso Barocco’s Ariodante, the new edition of this even more popular opera should be welcomed by musicians interested in historically informed performance. Indications of articulation have been made consistent wherever the intention is clear in the sources, and appoggiature have been suggested and bass figures added where necessary.
