In November, Gabriela Ortiz’s Revolución diamantina won Best Classical Contemporary Composition at the 2025 Latin GRAMMY® Awards. The Recording Academy also announced nominations for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards, with Gabriela Ortiz and Jeanine Tesori among the nominees.

At the 2025 Latin GRAMMY® Awards on November 13, Gabriela Ortiz won Best Classical Contemporary Composition for the title track on her portrait album Revolución diamantina, performed by the LA Phil, Gustavo Dudamel, and Los Angeles Master Chorale. Released by Platoon, the album is the orchestra’s first dedicated to Ortiz’s music and previously earned three wins at the 67th GRAMMY® Awards, including Best Contemporary Classical Composition for the same work.

Ortiz’s Estudios entre preludios for solo piano, is also featured on pianist Isabel Dobarro’s album Kaleidoscope, which won Best Classical Album at this year’s Latin GRAMMY® Awards.

On November 7, the Recording Academy officially released the nominations for the 68th GRAMMY® Awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

YANGA, the LA Phil and Gustavo Dudamel’s second portrait album devoted to Ortiz’s music, received three nominations:Best Classical Compendium, Best Choral Performance for the title track Yanga, featuring the Los Angeles Master Chorale, and Best Contemporary Classical Composition for Dzonot, featuring cellist Alisa Weilerstein. The recording is also released by Platoon.

Jeanine Tesori’s opera Grounded, released on Deutsche Grammophon, is nominated for Best Opera Recording. Recorded live at the Metropolitan Opera, Grounded features mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo, tenor Ben Bliss, and conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
