The world’s leading classical music publisher Boosey & Hawkes announces that Emma Kerr is promoted to Senior Vice President, heading up the Promotion teams in the London and New York offices.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 14 January 2026

Boosey & Hawkes, a Concord company, announces that Emma Kerr is promoted to Senior Vice President, Global Promotion. With more than 30 years of experience working in music publishing and composer management at Boosey & Hawkes, Emma Kerr will now oversee international promotion strategy and catalogue development for the leading music publisher. This follows the recent announcement of Janis Susskind concluding her tenure as Managing Director and Steven Lankenau’s appointment as Boosey & Hawkes President.

Emma Kerr has enjoyed creative relationships with the world’s leading composers on the Boosey & Hawkes roster, working particularly closely with Anna Clyne, Karl Jenkins, James MacMillan, Steve Reich, Mark-Anthony Turnage, and many more. As well as managing and shaping their composing careers, Emma Kerr has promoted their music internationally, seeking commissions, composer residencies, recordings and synchronisation opportunities.

She has successfully explored her special interest in connecting music with dance and ballet, establishing contact with leading choreographers and dance companies, resulting in the creation of over 100 new danceworks to enrich the repertoire. Emma Kerr has managed the London Promotion team since 2004 and now assumes an international role, leading the company’s dynamic approach to the promotion of composers across the back catalogue and contemporary roster.

Emma Kerr has championed creative arts across her career to date, both at Boosey & Hawkes and for external music and educational organisations. She is currently a board member at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, and has previously served on the boards of the International Artist Managers’ Association and the International Society for Contemporary Music.

Emma Kerr, Senior Vice President, Global Promotion, Boosey & Hawkes commented:
“My years at Boosey & Hawkes - especially the opportunity to work closely with Janis Susskind - have been both an education and a privilege. From community centres and churches to the most prestigious international venues, I have seen firsthand the enduring power of music of the past and present to shape and enrich people's lives. Supporting composers and witnessing the creation of the masterpieces of our time is an occupation I truly cherish. I am excited to lead our international strategy and development as we continue this important work into the future.”

Steven Lankenau, President, Boosey & Hawkes commented:
“Emma is much admired by the international performing arts community for her dedication to composers and commitment to promoting the music of Boosey & Hawkes’ incredible catalogue. I can think of no one more appropriate to lead the international promotion team as we sign new composers and look towards the company’s centenary in 2030.”
