Steven Lankenau appointed Senior Director, Promotion; Dan Bartfield appointed Manager, New Media

Boosey & Hawkes, an Imagem Company, is pleased to announce that Zizi Mueller has been named President of Boosey & Hawkes, Inc., overseeing the operations of the company's New York office.

Zizi Mueller came to Boosey & Hawkes in 2008 after a vibrant career as a performer and producer of contemporary music. She brought with her a deep knowledge of the repertoire, having commissioned and performed many new works by a diverse group of composers. Additionally, Mueller produced several significant collaborations of multi-disciplinary work as well as first recordings of important chamber and orchestral work. During her time at Boosey & Hawkes, she has been responsible for managing the company's roster of composers in North and South America, including their future projects and commissions, while overseeing all promotion and publicity activities. She has instituted new initiatives to grow the territorial business for Boosey & Hawkes, including the launch of the Emerging Composers Initiative in 2008, which aims to foster and develop the next generation of innovative composers. Mueller has also added new creative voices to the composer roster: Osvaldo Golijov, Sebastian Currier, Anna Clyne, and most recently, Sean Shepherd. Under her management, Boosey & Hawkes launched the Online Scores website, offering free and immediate digital perusal scores, as well as sophisticated new media initiatives that will ensure that the company's publishing stays current in the ever-changing digital environment.

Two additional staff appointments have also been announced: Steven Lankenau has been named Senior Director, Promotion, and Dan Bartfield has been named Manager, New Media.

Since joining the Boosey & Hawkes Promotion Department in 2010, Steven Lankenau has guided promotion strategies through North and South America, including such initiatives as the monthly Concerto Corner and Opera Spotlight repertoire campaigns. Lankenau has developed close relationships with orchestras, opera companies and choreographers while managing a wide range of composers from the Boosey & Hawkes roster. Prior to joining Boosey & Hawkes, Steven was Director of Programming at the Brooklyn Philharmonic, where he curated ASCAP award-winning seasons celebrated for genre-busting collaborations and Brooklyn-wide festivals.

Dan Bartfield joined Boosey & Hawkes in 2006. He has spearheaded multiple global marketing initiatives in the evolving digital marketplace, including the ground-up development of the Boosey & Hawkes Online Scores website. Bartfield now implements a global media strategy for the company, including the administration of over 20 social media accounts, while also maintaining digital platforms for audio and visual content across the Boosey & Hawkes online networks.
