Synopsis

A small party of tourists is caught by the tide while having a look at a wreck on a sandbank. The banker, who is immensely rich, persuades the young man to swim to shore and get help, promising him a large fortune. The young girl wants to abandon herself to a romantic death in the arms of the fisherman. But the water disappears as quickly as it came. The young man, intoxicated by the sight of the money, kills the banker; the girl leaves the fisherman and follows the youth who is now rich.
