Peter Ruzicka was working on ‘TRANS’ at a time when he planned his music theatre BENJAMIN. At the time, there was no title or libretto for it, just a ‘vision’, as Ruzicka says. ‘‘TRANS’ is a kind of pre-echo - that's what I called a piece at the time that approached the tonal identity of my ‘HÖLDERLIN’ opera. The title ‘Trans’ refers to the material district in which I find myself. Specifically, it will be about the transformation of reality into something transcendental, something otherworldly,’ says the composer.
