Synopsis

Ortiz offers a haunting portrayal of the real-life story of Alcira Soust Scaffo, a poet from Uruguay who studied at Mexico’s premier university, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), and joined the Students Movement before the Army invaded the UNAM campus in 1968. Alcira managed to survive after 12 days hidden in a bathroom of the Humanities Tower—a powerful image of resistance and oppression.
