
Lera Auerbach
• Lera Auerbach has become internationally recognised as a composer, pianist, conductor, poet and visual artist
• Her kaleidoscopic musical language, sometimes reminiscent of Shostakovich, is experimental, colourful and full of great emotions
• Many of her works are inspired by extra-musical sources
• Her worldwide successes include the ECHO award-winning ballet music The Little Mermaid, which she wrote for the choreographer John Neumeier, and the orchestral work Icarus
