• Manfred Trojahn is among the most successful German composers of his generation and known internationally, especially for his operas
• His impressive compositional output embraces nearly all genres and is performed by renowned artists around the globe
• Studied flute with Karlheinz Zöller, composition with Diether de la Motte and conducting with Albert Bittner
• 1991 to 2017 was Professor for Composition at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf
• Member of the art academies in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich
• Received numerous awards and grants, such as the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes (1971), the Stuttgarter Förderpreis (1972), the first prize at the International Rostrum of Composers, Paris (1978), the Academia Tedesca Villa Massimo in Rome (1979/80), the Sprengel Prize for Music (1980) and the Deutsche Musikautorenpreis (2008)

Ein Brief (2017–19) for baritone, string quartet and orchestra
Urworte. Orphisch (2019) for a cappella chorus
Eurydice – Die Liebenden, blind (2021) opera in 3 acts
Achéron (2023) for percussion and orchestra
