Composer's Notes
This sextet was written upon a commission from Dr Johan Janssen, in memory of his beloved wife Loes. While it is impossible to condense someone’s life into a 15 minute piece of music, my 5-movement work responds to a few uniquely engaging stories about Loes which I read in Johan’s comprehensive book about her.
Those range from Loes saving Johan from drowning and her passionate collection of perfume bottles to their love of a fast car.
