T. Rex

I was in my 20s the first time I heard a real pipe organ -- that is, one in a church, not a salon organ.
I was so impressed by its sweeping power that I had to gather the courage to face it in order to write a piece -- not until three decades later.

T.Rex is a piece to tame my own fear -- with caution, studying, and provocation, until the new sonority and my own musical signature could merge, almost to the point of fondness.
