1966 - Began piano lessons

1980-85 - Studied at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Conservatory in Leipzig: piano with Gerhard Erber; composition with Siegfried Thiele and Friedrich Schenker; conducting with Günter Blumhagen

1986-87 - Masterclasses at the Academy of Arts under Friedrich Goldmann (composition)

since 1988 - Freelance artist in Leipzig, as pianist specialising in twentieth century music

1989-90 - Further studies at the conservatory in Cologne under Aloys Kontarsky (piano)

1989 - Founded the Ensemble Avantgarde

since 1989 - Concert and lecture tours to many countries in Europe, America and the Far East

1996 - Began with the recording of John Cage's complete piano works for Musikproduktion Dabringhaus & Grimm
