Each piece from At the piano is a miniature exploration of certain techniques written in a contemporary, yet accessible style.  These compositions have been inspired by selected pieces from the piano repertoire of Béla Bartók (1881–1945); the original on which each homage is based is acknowledged at the start of each piece. So each piece presents a different challenge, but, above all, what is most important is that they should be enjoyed!

Press Reviews

"This ingenious collection draws upon the repertoire of Bela Bartok and presents it in an entirely modern and original format. . . . Though the complexity of some of the pieces means it won't be entirely suitable for complete novices, those who have already had some tuition on the instrument will be challenged and entertained. . . . The technical features that appear in each piece are listed in a reference table at the back of the book so even if the learners aren't aware of the new skills they're picking up, the teacher can guide them towards pieces that will strengthen their weaker areas."-Carrie Dunn, LINK magazine
