"Less frequently performed than the Op27 pieces above, these variations are nevertheless very fine teaching material for Grades 3 to 5. There are two sets of variations on Russian and Ukranian folksongs as well as a set of variations on a Slovakian folksong. The melodic material is appealing and some of the variations sound more difficult and involved than they really are; strongly recommended."
