Górecki, Henryk Mikolaj - Piano Album
The first publication of all the extant manuscript solo piano works (miniatures and collections of short pieces). Edited and with a preface (E/G/F) by Anna Górecka, Professor at the Katowice Music Academy and daughter of the composer.
An excerpt taken from Anna Górecka's preface included within the new collection.
"What did the piano mean to Górecki? I think piano first and foremost meant his mother, whom he lost on the very day of his second birthday. Later, he was not even allowed to touch an upright piano that belonged to her and remained at home after her death. Only when he turned eighteen could he decide to undertake a more formal music education..."
Review
"“This is an important publication, and one that I can warmly recommend.”"
