The original mixed voices arrangement of In the bleak midwinter was originally written by Will Todd for Andrew Earis and the Choir of St Martin in the Fields and first performed as part of ‘Jazz Carols from St Martin in the Fields’ on 22 December 2012. It is included in Three more jazz carols. This version for TTBB (with some additional divisi) was adapted by Courtney Furno for performance by the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus.

The carol can be performed using the supplied piano part or embellished using the chord symbols above. Double bass may also be used in addition to piano, again following the supplied chord symbols. Performers should feel free to include the congregation or audience in imaginative ways.
