A spirited fanfare for treble voices in three parts (SSA). The text, from a 1784 publication of Musical and Poetical Relicks of the Welsh Bards, invokes the wakening of voices and instruments. The music builds to a climax at the mention of Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. One might imagine this being sung by wood nymphs or sprites in a playful, teasing mode, with their echoes shaking the hills and wafting to distant moutaintops.
