“4 More Afro-Caribbean Pieces for 6 Hands at 1 Piano” is the second of two volumes of arrangements by Mike Cornick. Suitable for intermediate players, these “trios”, are as light-hearted as you would expect, both of the music and the format. They will be excellent material for informal soirées, having fun at a weekend course or perhaps as an encore or finale of a piano class concert. The folk songs in each volume have been chosen for their lively rhythms and robust harmonies and each volume includes an original piece by Mike Cornick that draws on the styles and mannerisms of the region. Mike has provided fingerings to alleviate the inevitable collisions between the many hands in close proximity but says, after all, that is part of the fun.
