Continuing a series of nature-inspired flute music full of lyricism and transcendent beauty, Daniel Dorff has created an 18-minute sonata depicting three lakes that bear poignant memories. “Lake Wallenpaupack” recalls a romantic getaway, “Kezar Lake” is a memorial to the composer’s father, and “Salmon Lake” is a playful scherzo-finale recalling Dorff’s own childhood.
