Chorale and Variations, Sax Quartet SATB. This quartet was written in 1979 for my final composition recital at Huddersfield School of Music, where I studied under the distinguished composer and author Richard Steinitz – founder of the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. It was soon taken up by the English Saxophone Quartet and became a regular part of their performances in the early 80s before being consigned to the archives for three decades!
