Haydn intended The Creation to be a bilingual work, and published it in 1800 with English and German texts. In this edition of the work, Nicholas Temperley has carried out a fresh adaptation, reconciling, as far as possible, the original English text with Haydn's intentions. The piano reduction of the orchestral score is based on Muzio Clementi's piano reduction, published in 1801.
