This edition of two sonatas by James Hook has been prepared from an early edition of a set of 3 Sonatas Op99 held at the British Museum. Except for the transposition, each sonata has been left intact, the style and the small range lending themselves naturally to a transposition for trumpet and piano. Teachers will find that both sonatas contain musical materal helpful in the development of specific points of musicianship and style.
