Scottish Folk Song Suite
1. Afton Water

"Written as a compliment to the River Afton which flows into the Nith near New Cumnock, which has some charming wild romantic scenery as its banks." So wrote Robert Burns in a letter to his friend Mrs. Dunlop on the 5th of February, 1789. And like the romantic scenery, this is a sweet and romantic song. For treble voices in three parts (SSA).
