Winds is an original work set to the poetry by students from the Faywood Public School under the guidance of their teacher Judy Haines in Metropolitan, Toronto. The piece opens quietly with the children's voices accompanied by a piano part that depicts the whirling of the wind. Suddenly, the pace quickens. The music grows more chromatic and thicker in texture as we are led into a frightening, climatic windstorm. Finally, the storm subsides. The music quiets down, only to recall the peaceful and gentle breeze. For treble voices in two parts (SS) and piano.
