'Music for Five is a composition for a great and extremly differentiated percussion instrumentarium composed of 5 groups of instrumets. As the authoress says: ''it is a masterly piece of music which gives the performers great possibilities of instrumental and interpretative parade. The work consised of two movements and each of them plays a different role on construction of the composition. the first movement - reflexive, quiet, with a nearly ''classical'' harmony and lyricism - is dominated by melodic instruments (marimba, vibraphone, bells, kettle-drums) sometimes with unconventional articulation media. It is a prelude to the second movement which is much more developed and where the proportions are different. . Instruments of undefined pitch dominate here. Moszumanska-Nazar uses them in a very interesting, nearly melodic way. This movement starts with almost whispering structures and though several climaxes leads to a long quasi0canon.The enormous energy is discharged in the improvisation af all the five musicians at the end of composition. parts for improvisation, which are so natural for percussion instrumentarium, appear in all Moszumanska-Nazar's compositions. Music for five was composed for Cracow percussion Group and the Group performed it for the first time during the Musica Viva festival organized by the Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich on 24 February 1989.
