A jazz pianist who puts himself in the spotlight with a solo concert usually has aspirations towards classical music or at least confirms his classic status as a jazz pianist. The classical tradition of solo pianists is a lot more established than within the jazz, which only began roughly in 1975 with Keith Jarrett's 'Köln Concert'.
